More detailed information about the snowpack:

Performed several hand shears on northerly aspects near treeline to check for slab over facet structure in upper snowpack.  Moderate shears showed in specific areas with previous wind loading.  Wind slabs were 1F to P and no more than 10-12cm thick, but only in a few isolated areas.  Lots of spatial variability overall and thickness of slab diminished rapidly even just a few meters away from targeted, wind loaded areas.  Minor cracking from skis in these areas near and above treeline on northerly aspects.  Height of snow at pass (9624') 70-95cm on protected/shady side.
