4/22/23:The 2022-2023 Forecasting season has come 4/22/23:The 2022-2023 Forecasting season has come to a close. Avalanche activity may continue to occur this spring. Expect wet snow instabilities on warm days. Cornice failure is always unpredictable and the snowpack can change rapidly in the spring.  Late spring storms can bring about wind and storm slab problems. 

Thank you to everyone who supported the avalanche center this season, we appreciate your support!  From those that submitted observations, volunteered their time, or made a financial donation or the businesses and sponsors that help support the program. Thank you for another great season!

The BWRA will remain open to motorized use until Sunday, April 30th.

We'll start issuing condition reports again in the fall of 2023. See you then!!

-Our last forecast will be this Saturday the 22nd.
-The BWRA will close to motorized use Sunday, April 30th, in accordance with BWRA management plan.
-CalTrans will begin clearing HWY 108, be mindful of their heavy equipment and park respectfully in order for them to continue clearing the road.
