BWRA remains closed to motorized use due to lack of snow

The Bridgeport Winter Recreation Area (BWRA) remains closed to over-snow vehicles due to lack of snow. The two requirements needed to allow motorized use are a minimum snow depth of 24″ at the Leavitt Lake/ HWY 108 junction and after the first Saturday in December.   The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest’s Bridgeport Ranger District and Bridgeport Avalanche Center will continue to check snow depths and update the public on the status of the BWRA.

However, the BWRA is always available for other winter rec activities such as snowshoeing, backcountry skiing, and cross-country skiing.
